FAQ Friday

I'm starting a new feature on Fridays called, you got it, FAQ Friday. So here's your chance, what is your burning question for me? It can be about anything: gardening, parenting, depression & anxiety, faith & religion, my personal life...anything. You can even ask questions that don't have anything to do with me but some random question of the universe and I'll research it and see what I can find out for you. The only thing off limits: math, chemistry, physics or any of that weird stuff that I cheated off of Traci to get through high school.

You can leave your questions through the comment section, email them to me or write them on Facebook. I will keep a list of them and answer them on Fridays.

Wahoo!

Man, if my husband realized I was the science and math brain in the Jen & Traci Operation, he would stroke out.

Okay, in the spirit of getting this thing started, I will throw a question out. As a teacher (kindergarten), I am curious if parents want to know if their child has been upset/sad/crying at school. Sometimes I will let the kids call mom (or we've even started writing quick emails to mom) during the day ... it usually cheers the kiddo up and is helpful to me. But as a mom, would it bother you to get a call in the middle of the day when your kiddo is crying - or would you like it, because it's keeping you involved?

I will add that I don't do this ALL the time - we could have kids manipulating it just to call home every day. I'm a Panther, I'm smarter than THAT.

What form of discipline do you use? Timeouts, butt swats, threats, bribes, nose-in-the-corner, sticker system.... Or something else that I didt just think of? What do you think is the best way to teach and enforce rules?

Favorite beverage?

When do you think dinosaurs roamed the earth? (one of my favorites to ask Jesus-lovers!)

oh man, this is my middle girlie lilly spot on!! for me, i want to know how she is doing during the day! it wasn't so bad in kinder but this year in 1st grade i have had to go to the school to give hugs. it makes lilly feel better and i feel better knowing it is something little i can do to help her heart and get her through the day. some kiddos just neet that little reassurance from mamma! :)

If you were to get a tattoo, what would it be of, and where on your body would you put it?
